Friends of St George's

Friends of St Georges

Since 1832 St George's has provided a special place at the heart of our community, where parents can give thanks for a new birth and couples celebrate their weddings. It is a sacred place for local families to hold funerals. It has remained a place to gather, as a community, on special occasions with the whole nation.

Today we continue that tradition at St George's. Every day (except Friday) our doors are open at 8.00am and 5.00pm to welcome people to share the peace and pray for our families.  Every Sunday we offer a variety of styles of worship to suit different needs and ages.

For those who cannot join us at St George's, the church community goes out each week to support the housebound, working with local schools, and caring for those in our residential care homes as well as supporting those going through a crisis in their life like bereavement.

We are so grateful for the good will of many of our local residents who have a great affection for St George's and would like, in some practical way, to ensure that it will have a secure financial future.

By pledging to give an annual donation you will play a vital role in supporting the work of St George's.

Friends of St George's will receive regular news about the life of St George's Church and will be invited to special Friends events, such as a friends Carol Service.

God bless you,

Revd Murray McBride, Vicar of St George's, Shrewsbury
