Pirate activity morning

 All aboard  10.00 am—12 noon homeward bound

St George’s Church is offering a morning of fun for children in the summer holidays. The activities will take place in St George’s Church, Drinkwater Street.

All children need to be accompanied by their parent or guardian; the activities are designed for all ages to participate. If it makes it more fun do encourage children to dress up as much or little as they wish. There are refreshments and toilet facilities on board the church.

Limited Numbers: please book ahead by 18 August to ensure your place.

St George’s Wedding Fair

 

Date:     Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th September 2010

Time:    Saturday  & Sunday 12noon – 5pm;

Sunday 10.30am: “Wedding Theme” Service

Venue:  St George’s Church, Frankwell, Drinkwater Street, off Frankwell Island. SY3 8QA   

 

 

  • A variety of local trade stands, some of whom will be showing examples and giving away tasters to visitors. These include: wedding cakes, wedding dresses, jewellery, hair dressing and manicure, wedding cars, photographer and make-up artist, and reception venue.

 

  • The Wedding Fair will be opened by The Mayor of Shrewsbury at 12 noon on Saturday.

 

  • The Vicar will be on hand to give individual wedding service sessions for prospective couples with examples of music for the occasion, special resources from the Church of England’s ‘Wedding Project’, taking some of the worry from the couples and making their wedding day a wonderful and spiritual experience.

 

  • A light-hearted review of wedding dress fashions over several decades. We hope many dresses will be with their brides.

  

 

  • An exhibition of wedding photographs, of wedding couples married at St George's over the last 100 years. There is a prize donated by Theatre Severn for the oldest photograph.
